VA hosts inaugural Digital Health Symposium; Veterans, industry invited to attend

The Veterans Health Administration Innovation Ecosystem (VHA IE) and the Digital Medicine Society (DiMe) are bringing together Veterans with technology and digital health innovators to accelerate VA’s role as a leader in advancing patient-centered digital health solutions that improve Veteran care coordination, access, and quality. Registration is now open.

VA is inviting all interested Veterans and industry representatives to join the symposium, Putting Digital Health Innovation into Practice at Veterans Affairs on Oct. 25, 2021, from 10 am – 4:45 pm ET. All attendees will have the chance to participate in panel Q&A sessions, engaging directly with the innovators who are impacting Veteran lives.

The virtual symposium will feature speakers from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Amazon, Apple, Verily, Microsoft and more. VA innovators, industry leaders and Veterans will discuss how digital health technologies, including smart watches and health apps, are advancing the prevention and management of chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and behavioral health. Panelists will also discuss the infrastructure necessary to make digital innovation work at scale.

During the event, VA employees and leadership will discuss how they are working with industry to integrate patient-generated health data into VHA care. Attendees of the event will learn how VA is currently collaborating with companies like Fitbit, Podimetrics, Abbott, and others.

“DiMe is pleased to collaborate with VA to host this inaugural symposium which will propel national strategic goals for digital health innovation, especially as they pertain to improving care for Veterans,” said Jennifer Goldsack, the chief executive officer of DiMe. “I’m delighted to welcome leading innovators from across industry to advance high value healthcare in this digital era.”
